Warranty Terms
Effective Date: Jan. 1, 2026
This Limited Warranty applies to window treatments and outdoor coverings (“Products”) purchased directly from Value Blinds® (“Value Blinds,” “we,” “us”) and installed in the United States. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights that vary by state.
Important – Outdoor-use notice: Exterior products must be retracted/secured during windy or severe weather and kept clear of debris. Weather-related damage (wind, storms, pooling water, snow/ice) and damage beyond rated limits are not covered.
1) Who Is Covered
This Limited Warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser with valid proof of purchase, when the Product is installed in the original window opening/installation location and used under normal residential conditions.
2) Warranty Periods
A) Fabric & Materials — 3 Years
For three (3) years from the date of delivery, we warrant that the Product’s fabric and materials will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. This includes manufacturing defects such as weaving/material flaws and factory assembly issues that affect the shade material.
B) Motors — 5 Years
For five (5) years from the date of delivery, we warrant that the motor will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use.
C) Non-Motorized Operating Mechanisms & Hardware — 3 Years
For three (3) years from the date of delivery, we cover non-motorized operating mechanisms and included mounting hardware against defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use (e.g., clutches, spring assist components, cord/chain mechanisms where applicable, brackets and mounting hardware supplied by us).
D) Controls, Chargers, and Power Accessories
- Standard remotes/receivers included with the motor system: 3 years
- Smart hubs/bridges, sensors, and optional accessories: 2 years
- Power adapters/chargers: 1 year
- Rechargeable batteries (if applicable): 1 year (normal capacity loss over time is not a defect)
E) Shipping Damage / Missing Parts — Report Within 2 Days
Please inspect your delivery promptly. Shipping damage and missing parts must be reported within 2 calendar days of delivery with photos of the box/packaging and the Product.
3) What We Will Do (Remedy)
If a covered defect occurs during the applicable period, we will, at our option: (1) provide replacement parts, (2) repair the Product, or (3) replace the Product (same or comparable), if repair is not practical.
Labor, removal, and reinstallation are not covered unless required by applicable law or explicitly stated in writing.
4) What Is Not Covered (Exclusions)
General Exclusions (All Products)
- Measurement/order selection errors (e.g., incorrect measurements, mount type selection, color/opacity choices, or other customer-selected specifications). Custom Products are made to order.
- Normal wear and tear, routine maintenance, minor cosmetic variation within manufacturing tolerances, and natural aging.
- Environmental or chemical damage (e.g., fading/discoloration from UV exposure, smoke, salt air, humidity/condensation, excessive heat, stains, mold/mildew, or harsh cleaners).
- Misuse, abuse, improper installation, mounting into unsuitable surfaces, failure to follow installation instructions, modification, unauthorized repair, or use of non-approved parts.
- Accidents, impact damage, pets/pests, or acts of nature.
Outdoor Products (Exterior Shades/Screens, Retractable Awnings, Pergolas) — Additional Exclusions & Use Limits
- Wind / storms / acts of nature (not covered): Damage caused by wind, gusts, storms, hurricanes/tornadoes, hail, flooding, or flying/falling debris, or leaving an outdoor product deployed during unsafe weather.

Rated wind limits — exceeding limits is not covered:
- Exterior shades/screens: windproof up to Level 8 (approximately Beaufort force 8, mean winds about 39–46 mph).
- Retractable awnings: windproof up to Level 5–6 (approximately Beaufort force 5–6, mean winds about 19–31 mph).
- Automation/sensors are not a guarantee: Optional wind/sun/rain sensors, smart controls, timers, or automation do not guarantee protection from weather damage. Weather-related damage (including wind damage) is not covered even if sensors are installed or enabled.
- Water pooling / standing water (awnings and canopies): Damage caused by water pooling on fabric/canopies, improper pitch, clogged drainage, or allowing rain to accumulate while extended.
- Snow / ice / freezing conditions: Damage caused by snow or ice accumulation, freezing conditions, icicles, or allowing snow/ice to build up on outdoor products.
- Pergolas — snow-load limit (exceeding limit is not covered): Pergolas are designed to withstand a maximum snow load of 150 kg/m² (approximately 31 psf). Damage caused by loads beyond this rating—including drifting/uneven accumulation, compacted snow, or ice load—is not covered. Customer is responsible for monitoring conditions and clearing snow/ice as needed to stay within rated limits.
- Corrosion / coastal environments / chemicals: Corrosion, oxidation, discoloration, staining, or finish degradation caused by salt air/coastal exposure, chlorine/sprinklers, fertilizers, chemicals, pollution, or other corrosive environments (unless due to a manufacturing defect).
- Maintenance neglect: Issues caused by lack of reasonable maintenance—such as failing to keep tracks clear, remove debris/leaves before retracting, clean fabric/frames appropriately, or follow care instructions.
- Electrical / installation / code compliance: Failures or damage caused by improper wiring, non-compliant electrical work, inadequate power supply, poor waterproofing, voltage issues, power surges/lightning, or failure to obtain required permits and meet local building/electrical codes.
Outdoor Operating Notice: Wind ratings above reference the Beaufort wind force scale and are based on mean wind speeds; gusts can exceed mean speeds. Retract/secure products whenever conditions become unsafe or severe weather is forecast.
5) How to Make a Warranty Claim

Please include:
- Order number + purchaser name
- Photos/video showing the issue (and the full installed unit if possible)
- A short description of what’s happening
- Install details (inside/outside mount; approximate install date; indoor/outdoor location)
We may request additional information to troubleshoot. In some cases, we may request the return of defective parts.
6) Parts Availability & Substitutions
If a Product or component is discontinued, replacement may be made with like or comparable parts/products.
7) Limitations & State Law Rights
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Value Blinds® is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so these limitations may not apply to you.
8) Commercial Use
Unless expressly agreed in writing, this Limited Warranty is for residential use. Commercial or high-turnover rental usage may have reduced coverage.
Fit & Remake Program (Not a Warranty)
Because custom window treatments and outdoor products are made-to-order, measurement or selection mistakes can happen. Our Fit & Remake Program is a customer-support program to help you correct certain sizing/fit issues. This program is separate from the Limited Warranty above and does not require a defect.
Program Summary
- Window: Request within 30 days of delivery
- Coverage: One-time remake per covered opening/product line item
- Discount: 30%- 50% off the remake price (same product type/material category)
- Shipping: Customer is responsible for remake shipping costs (unless we determine there was a defect or our error)
Fit & Remake Eligibility
- Applies when the original Product was ordered with incorrect measurements or mount selection by the customer.
- Remake must be for the same Product type and generally the same material category.
- Limit one remake per covered opening/product line item.
Fit & Remake Exclusions
- Does not apply to Products damaged by improper installation, misuse/abuse, or environmental conditions.
- Does not cover removal/reinstall labor, tools, or third-party service costs.
- Does not apply to clearance/final markdown items unless stated on the product page.
- Large/oversize outdoor products: Due to freight and fabrication constraints, eligibility and discount may be adjusted or limited on certain oversized items. We will confirm eligibility during review.
How to Request a Remake
Email support@valueblindsdirect.com with your order number, what doesn’t fit, and the corrected measurements/specifications. We may request photos and a brief measurement/spec confirmation before issuing the remake quote.
